V14P2: Pneumatic ID Portable Pipe Beveling Machine

In scenarios such as pipe prefabrication, installation, and equipment maintenance, beveling small-to-medium diameter pipes often presents challenges like inconvenient clamping, inconsistent precision, bulky equipment, and poor on-site adaptability. Traditional external-clamping beveling equipment tends to damage the pipe's outer surface, while manual grinding yields inconsistent bevel quality, making it difficult to meet standardized welding requirements. To address these industry pain points, NODHA has introduced a Pneumatic ID Pipe Beveling Machine. Leveraging advantages such as internal expansion clamping, pneumatic drive, and a lightweight, efficient design, it is ideally suited for the precision machining of small-to-medium diameter, thin-walled pipes.

The equipment featured in this demonstration is a specialized pneumatic internal-clamping beveling machine. It utilizes the industry-standard internal expansion positioning method—distinctly different from traditional external clamping—to fundamentally prevent damage to the pipe's outer wall and meet the demands of high-standard engineering projects. Its core specifications offer exceptional versatility: an internal clamping range of 145mm–340mm accommodates pipes with outer diameters up to 14 inches (355.6mm), perfectly suiting the small-to-medium diameter pipes common in industrial settings. It handles wall thicknesses of up to 20mm, fully covering beveling requirements for thin-walled pipes made of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys across a wide range of applications.

The machine is powered entirely by pneumatics, eliminating the need for electric motors or electrical components. This ensures a high level of safety, making it suitable for challenging on-site conditions—including outdoor, flammable/explosive, and humid environments—while eliminating electrical hazards. Its compact, lightweight design allows for easy transport to the front line of construction; it requires no fixed workstation, offering significant advantages for mobile machining operations. The core internal expansion clamping mechanism is a standout feature: the tool is inserted into the pipe, and a precision expansion structure ensures automatic centering, high coaxiality, and stable clamping. This effectively solves common issues associated with thin-walled pipe machining—such as deformation, misalignment, and excessive vibration—ensuring a uniform and precise bevel.

During the on-site demonstration, NODHA technicians followed standardized operating procedures to execute the entire workflow: equipment setup, air supply connection, pipe alignment, expansion and clamping, cutting/machining, and equipment removal. Batch trial processing was conducted on pipes with various inner diameters—such as 145mm, 220mm, and 340mm—requiring no complex setup; the ability to switch quickly between specifications significantly reduced downtime during changeovers. During operation, the equipment ran smoothly with minimal vibration, and the pneumatic cutting force remained consistent and steady, effectively preventing issues such as edge chipping, burrs, and uneven bevels.

On-site inspection of the processed samples revealed precise bevel angles, flat end faces, and high surface quality, with no deformation or scratches. The results fully met industrial pipeline welding standards, eliminating the need for manual grinding or finishing; this substantially lowered labor costs and boosted processing efficiency. Compared to traditional equipment, this model offers distinct advantages for processing thin-walled pipes (up to 20mm thick), ensuring machining precision while effectively overcoming the common industry challenge of deformation during the cutting of thin-walled pipes.
