A professional pipe processing company in Nantong, with years of experience in local and surrounding pipe prefabrication, routinely undertakes beveling orders for various industrial and engineering pipelines. To improve production efficiency, after comparing various options, they ultimately selected a NODHA CNC pipe beveling machine and a matching electric lifting and conveyor system. After implementation, the processing flow was optimized, achieving the goal of improved quality and efficiency.
I. Customer Background
The Nantong customer is a comprehensive equipment manufacturing enterprise with businesses covering marine engineering, pressure vessels, and large industrial pipe prefabrication. Their processing workshop handles various carbon steel, low-alloy steel, and stainless steel pipes year-round for use in port machinery, chemical plants, and energy projects. With continuously increasing order volume, the customer faces growing challenges:

Wide pipe diameter range and frequent specification changes: Processing tasks cover everything from DN100 auxiliary pipelines to DN600 main pressure pipelines, with diameters ranging from 100-600mm and wall thicknesses from 6mm to 40mm. Frequent equipment adjustments are required for different pipe specifications, consuming significant time.
High labor intensity for loading and unloading: Large-diameter pipes can weigh hundreds of kilograms per piece. Relying on manual labor or ordinary overhead cranes for beveling is not only inefficient but also poses safety hazards.

High processing precision requirements: Products are mostly used in marine environments or high-pressure conditions, requiring strict standards for beveling angles, blunt edge dimensions, and end face perpendicularity. A near 100% welding qualification rate is required.
II. Solution: CNC Beveling Machine + Electric Lifting Conveyor
Targeting the actual working conditions of users in Nantong, NODHA provides a complete solution consisting of a CNC pipe beveling machine and an electric lifting conveyor. This solution is not simply a combination of equipment but a deep integration of workpiece logistics and processing technology.

1. CNC Beveling Machine Main Unit
The core of the equipment is a high-rigidity CNC pipe beveling machine, with a processing range covering Φ100-600mm and a wall thickness handling capacity of over 40mm. The main machine employs a "stationary pipe, rotating cutter head" machining principle. The cutter head is equipped with carbide inserts, enabling precision machining of various beveling shapes, including V-shaped, U-shaped, and composite beveling.
Four-jaw self-centering chuck: Equipped with a reinforced hydraulically driven four-jaw chuck, the clamping force is uniform and adjustable, ensuring that end face runout is controlled within 0.2mm during the machining of large-diameter pipes, effectively avoiding accuracy deviations caused by clamping deformation.
CNC system: Featuring a customized human-machine interface, the system automatically matches the cutting speed and feed rate after the operator inputs the pipe diameter, wall thickness, and beveling parameters. Commonly used process parameters can be stored and recalled, enabling rapid switching between different pipe specifications.

2. Electric lifting conveyor rack
Height adjustable: The working height of the rack can be automatically adjusted according to the pipe diameter being processed via an electric lifting device, ensuring that the axis of pipes of different diameters is always aligned with the center of the main machine chuck, eliminating the need for repeated manual heightening and alignment.
Electric conveying: The rollers are driven by a motor, enabling smooth feeding and unloading of pipes. Operators can transport single pipes weighing several tons using a remote control or control panel, completely eliminating the need for manual pushing and pulling or frequent overhead crane lifting.
Multi-station support: The material rack can move along the track, flexibly arranging support points according to the pipe length, making it particularly suitable for handling pipes 6-12 meters long, effectively preventing processing deformation caused by excessive cantilever length.
III. On-site Application
After the equipment installation and commissioning were completed, the NODHA technical team provided systematic training to the operators of the Nantong user and conducted on-site processing verification on typical workpieces.

DN500 Large Diameter Thick-Walled Pipe Batch Processing
A batch of Φ508×25mm carbon steel pipes, used for offshore platform structural components, required V-shaped beveling at both ends. The operator hoisted the entire bundle of pipes onto the material rack, started the electric conveyor via remote control, and the pipes were smoothly fed into the main machine chuck. After automatic four-jaw centering and clamping, the CNC system retrieved the preset thick-walled pipe processing parameters, and the cutter head smoothly cut in. After processing, the conveyor rack reverses its rotation, sending out the finished pipe, and the next pipe immediately takes its place. The entire process forms an assembly line operation, reducing the beveling time at both ends of a single pipe by nearly 40% compared to the original process, and requiring only one operator to monitor the process.
IV. Customer Feedback
Improved processing efficiency: The electric conveyor rack significantly reduces workpiece loading, unloading, and alignment time, lowering labor costs while enhancing quality stability.
